Fort Nelson First Nation announces new Chief for remainder of 2016-2018 term
Fort Nelson First Nation/Fort Nelson, BC: At a duly convened Council meeting on August 15, 2017, Fort Nelson First Nation Council unilaterally chose Harrison Dickie as Chief Councillor, effective immediately. This comes as a result of Chief Liz Logan’s resignation on August 8, 2017 citing personal and health related reasons.
In a letter to the Fort Nelson First Nation community dated, August 16, 2017 Chief Councillor Dickie expressed gratitude to Liz Logan for her years of dedication and public service to their community. He also expressed his thanks to Sharleen Gale for taking on the Acting Chief role over the past year.
A bi-election will follow in the coming weeks to fill the vacant Councillor position.
